Well, I can finally rest easy as today Tony and I saw the first picture of the baby. I will admit that I was a little anxious for today's appointment with it being only the first trimester; however, Tone's been calm throughout, creating a nice balance between the two of us :)
Tony had his first experience in a women's doctors office. The first thing he mentioned as I was filling out all of the paperwork was "there aren't any non girl magazines to read!" So he ended up settling on a Women's Health magazine with Kathy Lee Gifford on the cover. Haaaa! He was excited to find a People mag. once we were actually in the Doctor's room. Ask him anything about Clay Aiken "coming out." He's all caught up!
The whole OB-gyn experience for Tone didn't end there. No need for details, but stirrups were involved. He sat there patiently listening to the nurse, waiting for his turn to participate. Finally, he was able to stand up and look at the monitor. With the baby at about 10 weeks, she thought she may be able to get a shot by doing the ultrasound over the belly. That didn't work, so it was back to the stirrups. Immediately, the baby popped up. WHAT A RELIEF! "It's" been measured at about 1 inch, and the head, arm buds, and heart beat were TOTALLY visible. The heart was just pounding away a mile a minute and the wee babe was squirming around already! Leave it to Tone to ask if there were two of them in there...she didn't see any evidence of two babies...I think that disappointed him a bit. I on the other hand, am just fine with it!
So, I've attached the first scanned Baby Booker. "It" looks like a head popped out of a little cocoon...CRAZY!
Next appointment is in two weeks.
It's official...
